This PLA foams at 230 ° C and increases 3x in volume; so print large items that weigh almost nothing
Low weight PLA was developed by ColorFabb and meets a unique need; in terms of applications you have to think of drone production, fancy costumes and objects for on stage. But even if you want to print coarse visibility models at low costs, the low material consumption low weight PLA is a solution.
Printing with LW-PLA:
- Print temperature: 185 - 260 ° C
- Foam temperature: 230 ° C
- Print speed: 40 - 100 mm / sec.
- Heated bed: 50 - 60 ° C (not necessary)
You can reduce filament use by 60% by using LW-PLA. In addition, printing with LW-PLA saves a considerable amount of time. By varying the layer heights you can create nice effects and, for example, print extra thick edges.
LW-PLA is available in a diameter of 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm. Read the data sheet carefully before you start printing with LW-PLA and make sure you print a few small tests with this filament.
