Description
You use PC-PBT for sturdy hard 3D parts that must also be chemical and temperature resistant.
Polycarbonate provides strength and PBT provides excellent chemical resistance and resistance to extreme high and low temperatures (- 30 ° C).
PBT is the abbreviation for Polybutylene Terephthalate, a semi-crystalline thermoplastic. PBT is often used in injection molding; PBT is easy to process at low temperatures. That is why PBT is often used as a replacement for, for example, Nylon, PP and ABS, especially when you consider that PBT has excellent chemical and mechanical resistance.PC-PBT filament is widely used in automotive, public works, electronic and household appliances. PBT is very strong, rigid, dimensionally stable and has excellent tensile strength and PC-PBT also prints quite easily.
PC / PBT is relatively easy to 3D print, provided you take into account the right circumstances for material to 3D print.
Rules for 3D printing with PC-PBT:- Use a hard steel nozzle such as the P3-D Hercules or Zodiac
- Dry PC-PBT for 2-3 hours at 80 ° C
- Do you want extra strong 3D prints? Then leave the print in the oven for 2 hours at 90 ° C
- Clean your hotend after every print
- Storage tip: You should always store PC-PBT in a resealable bag in a dry environment.
