Description
PolyLite™ LW-PLA is a lightweight PLA that foams after extrusion, reducing density by 30%.
In this LW PLA, Polymaker has applied the Stabilized Foaming™ technology; this causes the PLA to foam in a kind of grid structure, which reduces the density of this material by 30%.
This Low Weight PLA is a passive foaming filament, which means that the temperature has no influence on the degree of foaming, as is the case with active foaming filament.Due to its low weight, LW PLA is extremely well suited for Cosplay costumes and aerodynamic objects.
PolyLite LW PLA prints just like regular PLA, has a matte appearance and therefore the layers are hardly visible.

Print settings:
- Nozzle temp.: 190-220°C
- Heated Bed: 25 - 60°C
- Speed: 30 - 50mm/sec.
- Cooling Fan: On
- Layer Height: 0.1 mm
- Number of shells/outlines: 3
- Top/bottom layers: 4
- Bed adhesion: Glass, PEI, BuildTak, 3DLAC, spray and glue
- Pre-drying: if necessary 6 hours at 55°C

- Density: 0.8 (g/cm3 at 23 °C) ASTM D792 (ISO 1183, GB/T 1033)
- Glass transition temp.: 62°C (DSC, 10 °C/min)
- Vicat softening temp.: 60°C ASTM D1525 (ISO 306, GB/T 1633)
- Melting temp.: 151°C (DSC, 10 °C/min)
- Crystallization temp.: 116°C (DSC, 10 °C/min)
Mechanical Properties:
- Young’s Modulus: 2636± 330 (MPa)

PolyLite™ PLA features Jam-Free™ technology:
Jam-Free™ technology improves the heat stability of Polymaker’s PLA filaments with softening temperatures over 140 °C. As a result, Polymaker’s PLA filaments show minimal softening in the “cold end” and can melt rapidly once entering the heating zone, leading to excellent printing quality with zero risk of nozzle jams.
